Frankonia Bakery was first established by Birgit Gunz in 1998. Driven by her passion for baking, Birgit decided to leave her successful career in the city behind and took a leap to turn her passion into reality.
The bakery initially operated as a small shop in Wimbledon Village but as wholesale demand was practically there from day one soon expanded into much larger premises in Tolworth, Greater SW London to focus on supplying the hospitality sector.
With an excellent track record of customer retention, the bakery is most proud of its client list which features many 5 star hotels, gentlemen clubs, high end restaurants and department stores and supplies not only London and Home Counties but also discerning chefs nationwide.
Birgit who is still in the driving seat today says the secret to happy customers is quite simple. “ We care. We care about our customers and care about what we sell to them. We do not cut corners, we respect and implement authentic methods of baking and the use of fabulous ingredients. We take the trust our customers have in us most seriously and provide them with a service that is reliable and supportive. We also greatly care for our team. Happy staff lead to happy customers.”
